Bodhgaya has a wonderful secret: Sakura House! In all of the chaos of Bihar, I find serenity with the staff of Sakura Hotel who I am pleased to call my friends. Dip Agrawal runs this friendly hotel that is pleasant and serving delicious food. As a bonus, I love to play with his friendly little dog! I cannot recommend him or his establishment more highly.
Dip helps them. He knows India well and is happy to arrange custom tours ‘walking in the footsteps of Buddha,’ visiting Mother Teresa’s mission in Calcutta, or even a trip over the Himalayas into neighboring Nepal.

Maya Heritage hotel is a very modern hotel in Bodh Gaya. We felt at home in the hotel. The room is sizable and comfortable. The best part is we can see the tower of the Mahabodhi Temple from our window. All the major attractions are within walking distance. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They helped us arranged the airport pickup and drop-off and they also found a driver to take us to Nalanda and Rajgir. We enjoyed very much our stay.

Bodhgaya is a place of profound spiritual significance and historical importance. It's the very site where Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment and became the Buddha. Visiting Bodhgaya is a transformative experience, where one can immerse themselves in the serenity of the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Bodhi Tree, believed to be the exact spot where the Buddha meditated.
The atmosphere in Bodhgaya is charged with spirituality, with pilgrims from all over the world paying homage to the Buddha and participating in meditation and prayer sessions. The tranquility of the surroundings, coupled with the chants and rituals, creates a deeply moving and introspective atmosphere.
Apart from its spiritual significance, Bodhgaya offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Buddhism through its monasteries, stupas, and ancient artifacts. Exploring the various monasteries, each representing different Buddhist traditions, provides insight into the diversity and depth of Buddhist teachings.
The town itself is charming, with narrow lanes lined with shops selling religious artifacts, handicrafts, and traditional items. The local cuisine, influenced by the region's diverse cultural heritage, offers a delightful culinary experience for visitors.
Overall, Bodhgaya is not just a destination; it's a pilgrimage for the soul. Its timeless beauty, spiritual energy, and cultural richness make it a place unlike any other, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit. Whether you seek spiritual enlightenment, cultural immersion, or simply a serene retreat, Bodhgaya offers an experience that is truly unparalleled.

Mahabodhi temple is a beautiful place to visit.
Mahabodhi temple is a beautiful place to visit. Interesting and fascinating facts of Indian history are really mind blowing while you walk through the temple premises. Being a world heritage site the place is well maintained and disciplined. A sense of calmness, peacefulness and faith will automatically engulf your mind when you spent your time within the temple premises.

One day should be enough to go around Gaya-Bodhgaya.
One day should be enough to go around Gaya-Bodhgaya. Hire a good cab service and plan well. This is more of pilgrimage center (Hindus and Buddhist). Do not miss the cave where Buddha did meditation for six years) Take this opportunity to visit Pawpuri (Mahavir's Nirvana) Rajgir and Nalanda. Historical importance. From there you may travel to Patna and see Takhat Haramandir Sahib (Birth place of Gurugobind Singh) If you have not experienced Langar do have it there.
This leg-Gaya-Bodhgaya, Pawpuri, Rajgir,Nalanda, Patna- you are touching the holy places of four religions originated in India-Hinduism Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism apart from Historical places of Nalanda and Rajgir.

Quiet place with very little pollution.
Quiet place with very little pollution. The pandemic has definitely had its impact. The temples are open only till 5 PM and the lightning of the temples have been discontinued except the Mahabodhi temple. The temples are serene, clean and visitor friendly. Definitely worth a visit of two days.
Ansari House is great for travellers. With views of Mahabodhi temple, it is a 15 min walk into Bodh Gaya or a few minutes rickshaw. The hosts cook for you if you need food at the premises, either you can have what they are having or they will make food to request with prices to be negotiated at very reasonable rates. You can also find lots of restaurants in Bodh Gaya. The rooms are nice and clean. Overall it is a great place to stay if you are travelling or if are looking for a place to stay near to the Holy area.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel HyattPlace Bodh Gaya!
A wonderful modern new hotel in a beautiful green corner of nature. A wonderful place for relaxation, reflection and meditation.
The entire hotel staff tried very hard to provide us with the best comfort and service. The restaurant staff even brought us a piece of cake before the trip. Our Best recommendations!
We loved this place! The room and even the bathroom were so clean! Love the minimalistic style of everything and the high ceilings, it's really a nice place to stay!
About the location, what many people mention: there is nothing wrong with the road, you can easily drive here. If you have any issues with locals living outside the hotel, then don't visit Bodh Gaya!
We took breakfast and an occasional meal in the restaurant, which is run separately from the hotel. The restaurant owner is nice; the kitchen good. The guard of the hotel is a nice outgoing chap, who speaks English - better that the staff who obviously prefer to speak Hindi. The room was large but bland. For the rest there is little to like about the hotel.
1. If hospitality has a face then this is it, this is it, this it.
2. Very humble, courteous, helpful owner.
3. Food was very good and sumptuous and generous in amount. You can always try for homely food of Rajhat Marano.
4. Any help regarding car, tour or restaurant just ask.
5. The best stay at a humble price in WHOLE BODH GAYA.
Inspite of confirmed hotel booking, they did not provide the room because bill was not paid in advance. As such card details already provided to booking website while booking this hotel and they should charge at the time of checkin. This is complete failure of booking.com which is a worst website and not recommend at all.
Basically nothing, I wanted to leave the place and go to another hotel after getting irritated by the staff and seeing the room conditions , huge difference with the photos in their gallery they shared but they didn't allow me to take my money back and leave so I stayed and this is the worst decision ever
Friendly and personal service
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and no request for assistance was a problem for them. The hotel is well situated, being close to shopping, transport, and the tourist sites. We would definitely stay there again.
The staff is excellent. They are ready toh help with everything.. each and everyone is really nice .. the location is fantastic .. 700 mtrs from bodh gaya temple.. and also several monasteries are really close by .. overall a fantastic place!
hotel owner and staffs is very attentive and helpful. hotel room is spotless. feel like staying home, very comfortable. hotel is about 2 km away from Bodhi temple but hotel has car (free of charge) to drop you near temple.
All the staff of hotel are nothing but robbers, they refused to provide us our booked room and even oyo didn't do anything for our convince. Really bad experience and not going to recommend fun Friday and oyo to anyone
Amazing guesthouse with the perfect location. most lovely host, delicious chai and breakfast, and beautiful view of temple from roof. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. my favorite place to stay in all of bodh gaya!!
The all things is just best, the behaviour of Stafs, the care of the owner is just awesome.
The food also very tasty and quantity also more than sufficient.
