Pre Book your evening meal! ...we did not &
ALL were fully booked. We had to go to the next town for a walk in.!
Some nice quality independent shops & galleries. & a small cinema .
LYNTON could benefit from small scale music nights in venues & pubs.
Difficult terraine if not so mobile ,the hills are very very steep.!...and footpaths slippery when wet. Nice walks .
Valley of the Rocks & Coastal paths have exeptional.views .wandering goats & some tranquility.!....

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rebecca who was warn , cheerful and friendly we were made to feel welcome immediately.
The hotel is tastefully decorated with fine furnishings. Our room was superb and with a sea view.
Prior to our arrival we had already had a three course lunch so unfortunately, we had no room to dine in the evening. Our breakfast was amazing and upon our check out we were able to speak to Steve. He was pleased with our comments and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, that’s what we call friendly.
We will definitely be going back at some stage and would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel

Good location for the many walks near by.
Good location for the many walks near by. Not many places to eat in the evening if you didn't want to drive any where. Lack of toilets for public use. You need to be quite fit to get the best out of Lynton as it is very hilly. People are friendly which was very good. I would recommend the Crown Hotel for food and good service.

We really enjoyed Lynton.
We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area.
Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area. We hiked from Lynmouth up the hill - going right to pub 'the blue ball inn' - then on to Watersmeet - from there up the stream to Rockford Inn and then down to Lynmouth again.
Really nice walk!
We asked for a refund after one experience of a breakfast.
The receptionist was very pleasant and we agreed £10 per head per day.
This hotel has so much potential but at £149 per night, at present the management cannot cope. During the Covid crisis, or even without it, we approached Isabella, (the most senior management representative at the time) and asked for some soap for our room. She said that the hotel was expecting a delivery and 'she'd pop out and get some' : 24 hours later we asked again without luck.
In Lynton/Lynlouth you need to accept that gradients are part of the charm of these adjoining villages/towns - though you can sometimes cheat via the cliff railway - and they are also a great base for exploring North Devon. The walk out from Lynton to The Valley of the Rocks is worth doing - a miniature visit to the Lakes or Peak District - and particularly easy from Driftwood and the other apartments in the block. One tip in Lynton: if you are eating out, make sure you choose well and book well in advance!
The friendly, 5* service from everyone. The location so you can easily access the coastal path or pop into Lynton and Lynmouth.
The breakfast was great! The view spectacular - we were fortunate with weather and ‘Amalfi Coast’ springs to mind!
Pre dinner drinks at the bar or on the terrace were welcomed and relaxing.
Comfy bed and big bathroom. Happy, happy.
The location is very picturesque, and surprisingly quiet given how close it is to Lynton and Lynmouth. Nice to go to sleep listening to the river. A bit distant from shops etc. if walking, but this wasn't a real disadvantage for us. The cream tea provided for us on arrival was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the use of the e-bikes hired from the owners.
The hotel was beautiful and spacious, lovely furnishings. The view across the bay from all of the rooms was fantastic. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and evening meals we had were excellent. The hotel was in eyesight of the funicular down to Lynmouth. walk from the hotel to valley of rocks had fantastic views.
The location was perfect for exploring Lynton. Our host Drew was very helpful in suggesting a nearby restaurant and booking a nearby restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding! We thought parking on the street would be a problem, but after 4pm, spaces conveniently opened up. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed.
Breakfasts were cooked to order and very tasty. A great venue for outdoor activities straight from the door. Hosts and staff were very nice.
Seated outdoor area with views of river. Interior of the pub was proper old world Exmoor and local beers and cider on offer. We would recommend a visit, book if intending to have food.
Location was stunning facing the woodlands and with the sound of river Lyn / Lovely self contained flat, beautiful terrace, very well furnished, easy to walk to Lynton or Lynmouth. Bonus: they even had a bottle of wine for guests. Michelle and Lee are stunning hosts. Great holiday we had.
The North Cliff Hotel is a lovely hotel in a great location. It’s convenient for Lynton Town, the Funicular and the South West Coastal Path. It has a homely feel and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. The views from the bar balcony were exceptional.
Great location for hiking and likes the quietness of the hotel yet it’s close to Lynmouth and Lynton. Food and local ales were very good. Great welcoming atmosphere. The owners work hard to ensure the guests enjoy their stay. Would definitely return.
Host very obliging and friendly. Very clean throughout. Marvelous location for walking the North Devon bit of Exmoor. Old 17th century farmhouse with much character. Great views from bedroom of distant Brendon Common. Very , very peaceful.
Lovely stay at the Denes, amazing location only 20 minute walk to Valley of Rocks and breakfasts every day. The Denes was a great base and we got to see lots of North Devon. Chris and Lesley were very nice and helpful- great hosts.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lynton , the Hotel was ideally situated with wonderful views across the town. It was very clean and our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was very nice ...overall a perfect stay.
Breakfast was excellent, the room was immaculate, and the views and location were breathtaking! The hosts Rebecca & Steve were very welcoming and extremely helpful. I can't recommend the North Cliff Hotel highly enough!
Luxurious b&b perched on a hill overlooking Lynton and Lynmouth. The hosts have thought of every little extra to make your stay more comfortable. Great breakfast; go with an appetite, you'll need it.
Wonderful 2 night stay in quiet, comfortable B.and B.,just a short walk from the centre of Lynton. Large, airy bedroom with good facilities and excellent, well prepared breakfast. Amenable hosts.
The B &B was emaculate and well presented. The hosts were very helpful and professional. The house is well positioned to explore Lynton and Lynmouth and the surrounding area
Fantastic location for exploring Lynton and Lynmouth. Diana and Keith are the perfect hosts. Accomodation was spotless with comfy bed . Would definitely recommend.
