First, Christine was amazing and helped us with all of our issues and questions, so thank you to her.
Both rooms do overlook the horse racetrack which is nice and they both had balconies if you can get over the Rotorua smell (not hotels fault). I checked all beds for bed bugs and the linens did feel and smell clean, so that was another plus.
Overall, I do not recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful unit that was clean and very comfortable. We were within a short walking distance to a street that had all kinds of restaurants. This was a bonus for sure.

Rotorua is living proof of the magnificent, and sometimes mind-boggling, might of nature. Smoking hot springs, bubbling mud pools and fast-spouting geysers give the surrounding landscape an almost other-worldly feel.
This New Zealand city sits in the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, the world’s newest geothermal hotspot. It was created after the 1886 eruption that covered Te Wairoa Buried Village, between 2 of many lakes gracing this fertile terrain. By Lake Rotorua’s shores is the luxurious Polynesian Spa with its thermal pools. Just behind in Government Gardens are the city’s best cultural offerings: the Arts Village, Tamaki Maori Village and Rotorua Museum, in an elegant former bath house.
Native animals roam in Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park below Mount Ngongotaha, accessible via the Skyline cable car. The views while ascending make it obvious why this is called the Bay of Plenty. Tikitere Thermal Park on the opposite side of the lake is known as Hell’s Gate, but as long as you can ignore the sulphuric smell, the spas are simply heavenly.
More springs are in Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, whose surrounding forest is popular for mountain biking, and Wai-O-Tapu where the Champagne Pool is a striking mix of green and orange.
Booking.com’s accommodation range is as diverse as the scenery, encompassing luxury hotels, cheap hostels and motels near Rotorua Airport.

This beautiful town has a wealth of things to do, sights to see and the people are friendly and engaging.
Lots of things to interest most if not everyone.
Ranging from adventure activities, to beautiful sights, thermal pools and spas to relax in and cultural/historical enrichment around every corner. A real treat

So much to do!
So much to do! It's become the Queenstown of the north island - lots of adventure activities. We did spend a fair bit of money, but we also had a great time, they just need some more good quality restaurants, and better coffee in the township - the best we found was out in the suburbs.
I loved our time there, especially the mountain biking - so fun. People were all friendly and helpful too. Def a gret place to visit, esp if you have tweens / bigger kids.

Rotorua was a great place to visit.
Rotorua was a great place to visit. Mitai Village, Hot beach, waimangu volcano were all interesting places to visit. If you like to hike, the 9 mile hike to hot beach and the hiking trails in the Mokaihaha Ecological area are both great hikes .
Just don't stay at AWA hotel.

As we were only doing a two day stop over to catch up with family and friends, on our way to a wedding, it was just enough to get us time to do these visits and still have time for ourselves. As were not "exploring Rotorua" we did not need extra time. Would recommend at least 4 - 5 days if you are new to the place and want to do all those sights, that Rotorua has to offer.

Rotorua is a nice clean town with plenty of general shopping available. I felt that the tourist attraction were overpriced, but everything was well organized. The vulcanic activities are quite varied and unique.

The accommodation ideal for 3 adults with separate bedrooms:...
The accommodation ideal for 3 adults with separate bedrooms: 1 with a double and a single bed - the other with a double bed, extremely comfortable. staff welcoming, 3 tv's. Room service breakfast which we liked and a the restaurant had a good evening menu selection. we had a jacuzzi and use of the spa bath and whilst the swimming pool was a bit limited for size and depth it was very relaxing. the Pitch and putt was fun and the games room ample size, cooling / relaxing 10 minute walk around the stream was refreshing. the staff are brilliant and i could not fault them - well done
Great stay! The reception/manager was lovely and provided me with an extra heater (I am a cold person) and remembered my name each time we saw each other! I was upgraded to a bigger room on arrival. I was able to park my hire car outside my window which was great. You can get change from reception for the laundry facilities. Everything in Rotorua was about a 6 to 10 minute drive from the motel, so it was a great location! I was able to walk to my car hire place (RAD Care Hire 10 - 15 minutes).
If you’re traveling by Intercity bus in New Zealand, this hotel is within site of the bus terminal. It’s also very close to the lake and a beautiful park. I was surprised to be in a room that was not in the historical hotel but in an adjacent apartment style accommodation. It was adequate but definitely showed its age but not in a quaint way. The laundry room was appreciated for self service. The high tea was ok but didn’t seem as freshly prepared. Staff were very professional and friendly.
the receptionist was warm friendly and welcoming. we have stayed in many hotels in rotorua and rose court motel has become a favourite. The cleanliness was of a high standard the room was cosy and we had a pleasant stay. The receptionist greeted us in a friendly manner, which i highly value. Thank you for a pleasant stay and making myself and family enjoy it more because of the staff... Rose Court Motel, we will definitley be coming again.
My family and I decided last minute to head down to rotorua for the night. The best decision we ever made as whanau. We felt very welcomed from start to end. Rooms were amazing clean tidy and enough room so we could all sit together and eat. Pool was amazing couldn’t have asked for better.
My family and I loved our stay the Location was amazing and was so awesome with the lake/park within close walking distance. The beds are very comfy, and the pool/spa were a definite bonus. We would stay again without hesitation. Thanks Novotel Rotorua A+ from me and mine.
Great location right in the center of downtown Rotorua and a very nice hotel! Our room was spacious and comfortable with a great bathroom and kitchenette. Nice view as we were on an upper level. The staff were very helpful with questions and assisting with parking.
This was a perfect hotel for our family of 14 - ages 15 mos to grandparents. Easy to entertain kids - pool and playroom; adults had a bar and hot tub. Restaurant offered several options for breakfast.
Staff was very warm and helpful at all times.
I have stayed in a few motels/hotels over the years and this easily ticked most of the boxes. Good movie selection, loved the thick curtains that totally lid the light when i wanted the room dark for an afternoon nap, Quiet. Central for everything.
The motel is lovely in a tranquil neighbourhood, few minutes drive from the main attractions in Rotorua. The family running it is very kind and welcoming, they made my stay very pleasant. My room was extremely clean, well-equipped and cosy.
Everything. spacious room with beautiful kitchen. the spa in the room was great and the mineral spa was amazing. even fresh coffee was provided in the room.
I’ve stayed in lots of hotels and motels but Aura is one of best!
Fantastic stop especially if you've been in hotels a lot or a small group/family. We enjoyed using the facilities and was nice to be able to cook a meal. If you have a small family I imagine this being a great wee getaway
Pity about the front desk staff! They shouldn’t be in hospitality business! I had stayed in many millennium hotels in London many years ago…staff there always friendly & helpful unlike the Rotorua ones!
Well-equipped for an older motel. We just booked a double room but got a family room with kitchen, including oven. Very central to Rotorua attractions, particularly Kuirau Park.
Hidden Gem in Rotorua! Our room was perfect for our family. Plenty of room to run around for the kids and great aircon room for the summer. Staff were awesome and accomodating!
Location was excellent. Hotel has a lovely small pool and a wonderful hot tub for private use. The manager was very kind and gave excellent customer service.
Buffet dinner and breakfast was amazing especially with kids eating free! Heated pool and spas a favourite for us all. Great family hotel. Lovely staff!
